This guide explains how to reinstall the firmware on the AISLPC RG52 PRO MAX using the ResearchDownload tool. Read the entire guide before starting and follow each step carefully. The instructions are based on the provided RG52 PRO MAX flashing document.
1. Important Warnings Before Flashing
Back Up Your Data
Flashing the firmware will erase all data stored on the device. Back up your game saves, personal files, and other important data before continuing.
Confirm the Device Model
The firmware in this guide is designed only for the RG52 PRO MAX. Do not install it on another handheld model, as incompatible firmware may prevent the device from starting.
Charge the Device
Make sure the handheld has more than 50% battery power before starting. This helps prevent the flashing process from being interrupted.
Understand the Risks
Firmware flashing involves certain risks. Do not shut down the computer, disconnect the USB cable, or operate the handheld while the firmware is being installed.
2. Download the Required Files
You need the device drivers, the firmware update tool, and the RG52 PRO MAX firmware archive.
Download the Device Drivers and Firmware Update Tool
Download the Device Drivers and Firmware Update Tool
Download the following two archive files:
- Device drivers:
Drivers.zip - Firmware update tool:
Download_R27.22.4204.zip
Download the RG52 PRO MAX Firmware Archive
Download the RG52 PRO MAX Firmware Archive
Download the firmware archive:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.7z
After extracting the archive, you will get the following .pac firmware file:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.pac
3. Extract All Downloaded Archive Files
Extract all downloaded archive files on your computer, including:
Drivers.zipDownload_R27.22.4204.zipStory_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.7z

After extracting the firmware archive, make sure the following firmware file is available:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.pac

Place the extracted files somewhere easy to find, such as your desktop or a dedicated firmware update folder.
Avoid using a folder path containing too many special characters, as this may prevent the flashing tool from reading the files correctly.
4. Install the Device Drivers
Open the extracted Drivers folder and select the correct installer for your Windows system:
- For 32-bit Windows, run
32install.exe. - For 64-bit Windows, run
64install.exe.

Right-click the appropriate installer and select Run as administrator.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Restart your computer after installing the drivers to make sure they are activated correctly.
5. Open the Firmware Update Tool
Open the extracted Download_R27.22.4204 folder and locate:
ResearchDownload.exe

Right-click the program and select Run as administrator.
The ResearchDownload firmware update interface will then open.
6. Load the Firmware File
In the upper-left corner of ResearchDownload, click the first gear-shaped Load packet button.

In the file selection window, locate and select the extracted firmware file:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.pac
Click Open. ResearchDownload will begin analyzing and loading the firmware package.
The loading process may take some time because the firmware file is large. Do not close the program while it is loading.
After the firmware has been loaded, its name and related information will appear at the top of the tool.
7. Connect the RG52 PRO MAX and Start Flashing
Follow these steps in the correct order:
- Completely power off the RG52 PRO MAX.
- Do not connect it to the computer yet.
- Click the triangular Start button in ResearchDownload.
- Press and hold the Volume Down “−” button on the handheld.
- While holding the Volume Down button, connect the handheld to the computer using a USB data cable.
- Release the Volume Down button after the computer recognizes the device and the flashing process begins.
When the connection is successful, ResearchDownload will begin writing the firmware to the handheld, and the progress bar will start moving.

8. Wait for the Flashing Process to Finish
The firmware installation usually takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
During the flashing process:
- Do not disconnect the USB cable.
- Do not close ResearchDownload.
- Do not shut down or restart the computer.
- Do not press any other buttons on the handheld.
- Do not move the USB cable, as this may interrupt the connection.
When the progress bar turns green and ResearchDownload displays Passed or Ready, the firmware installation has been completed successfully.

9. Disconnect and Restart the Device
After the flashing process is complete, disconnect the USB cable.
Press and hold the handheld’s power button to turn it on.
The first startup after reinstalling the firmware may take longer than usual. Wait patiently and do not repeatedly press the power button or force the device to shut down.
Once the handheld successfully enters the system, the RG52 PRO MAX firmware installation is complete.
Troubleshooting
The Computer Does Not Recognize the Handheld
Check the following:
- Make sure the drivers were installed correctly.
- Restart the computer after installing the drivers.
- Make sure the handheld is completely powered off.
- Hold the Volume Down button while connecting the USB cable.
- Use a USB cable that supports data transfer.
- Try another USB port on the computer.
ResearchDownload Does Not Start Flashing
Make sure you clicked the Start button in ResearchDownload before holding the Volume Down button and connecting the handheld.
The .pac Firmware File Cannot Be Found
Make sure you have extracted:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.7z
After extraction, the folder should contain:
Story_rcs5205sb_2h10_RG52_ProMax_20260311.pac
The First Startup Takes a Long Time
This is normal. The system needs time to complete its initial setup after the firmware has been reinstalled. Wait patiently and do not force the handheld to shut down.
