How to Back Up Games, Saves, and TF Cards on AISLPC Handhelds

Before updating the firmware on your AISLPC handheld, we recommend backing up your games, save files, and other important data to reduce the risk of data loss during an update or system recovery.

Storage layouts vary between AISLPC models. Some handhelds use TF cards for games, some use internal eMMC storage, and the RG52 Pro Max uses Android internal storage together with TF card expansion.

Always confirm your handheld model and current system version before creating a backup.

1. Back Up Games From the TF Card

Completely power off the handheld before removing the TF card. Then connect the card to your computer using a card reader.

On some AISLPC handhelds running EE4.7 / EmuELEC, you may find:

EE_ROMS or EEROMS

Games are usually organized into folders for platforms such as PSP, PSX, GBA, and N64.

Copy the game folders you want to keep to your computer. If you have enough storage space, backing up the entire game directory can help reduce the chance of missing important files.

Only back up game files that you own or are authorized to use.

2. Back Up Your Save Files Too

Backing up game ROMs does not automatically back up your game progress.

Before updating, consider backing up:

• Normal game saves
• Save States
• Important emulator settings

Save locations vary between systems, emulators, and game platforms, so there is no single save folder that applies to every AISLPC handheld.

Once you locate the relevant save directory, copy the complete folder to your computer and keep an additional copy of important saves whenever possible.

3. RG52 Pro Max: Check Internal Storage

The RG52 Pro Max runs Android 13 and uses internal storage, while the TF card is mainly used for additional storage.

Some:

• Game saves
• Save States
• Emulator settings
• Downloaded content

may be stored internally rather than on the TF card.

Before performing a firmware or system-related operation, check the save location or backup/export options in the emulator you use.

Backing up the TF card alone may not save all game data on the RG52 Pro Max.

4. Back Up Both Cards on Dual-TF Models

If your AISLPC handheld uses two TF cards, check and back up important data from both cards separately.

It is also a good idea to record which slot each TF card came from.

Card functions may vary depending on the model and system version, so do not assume that one card is always the system card and the other is always the game card.

Do not swap or format the cards unless you know what each card is used for.

5. Special Note for TF-Boot Systems

Most AISLPC handhelds should not automatically be treated as systems that boot from a TF card. However, some TF-boot system versions do exist.

For example, the AisRock 20260815_TF Beta firmware for the RG52 MINI can boot directly from a TF card.

If your RG52 MINI is using this type of TF-boot system, you can create a full TF card image before updating or replacing the card, in addition to backing up your games and saves.

A full image can preserve:

• Partition structure
• Boot files
• System files
• Related data

A full TF card image should only be treated as a system backup when you have confirmed that your current operating system actually boots from the TF card.

If your handheld uses internal eMMC or Android internal storage, a TF card image only backs up the TF card itself and does not create a complete backup of the device system.

6. Final Check Before Updating

Before starting the firmware update, make sure:

• Your game files are backed up
• Important save files are backed up
• Save States are backed up
• Both cards have been checked on dual-TF models
• Internal storage has been checked on the RG52 Pro Max
• A full card image has been created when needed for a TF-boot system
• Your backup files can be accessed normally on your computer

After the firmware update is complete, confirm that the system, games, and saves are working correctly before deleting your old backup.

Important Tips

• Completely power off the handheld before removing a TF card
• Never remove the card while a game is saving
• Safely eject the TF card from your computer after copying files
• Avoid deleting or changing unfamiliar system files
• Do not format a TF card unless you understand its purpose
• Keep an additional copy of important data before updating firmware
